There has to be a law against calling a car with no engine, or performance parts (and I mean god damn real performance parts, not bolted on plastic) 'sporty'.

Nope it's called......marketing.
If we slowly confuse people's idea of "sport" they can then sell the "race" version (which couldn't actually compete in any races either) for even more profit!
CHA-CHING!

They do have suspension upgrades available but you have to import them which can be a pain. it would be nice with an extra 50-75 hp and a bit more torque, but its easy to get it going sideways in a corner as is which was what it was built to do. The BRZ is not designed as an all out performance vehicle, otherwise it would be competing with the WRX.

This is in the opposite direction of where Subaru needs to be going with this car. They need to shed some weight and bump up the power by 50-75 hp.

Premium Sport Edition? Come onnnnn slap a turbo on and make it an STI. The button is a start (even though I don't like push button starters)

It needs a turbo. Just make a freaking turbo version with good factory tires and it would suddenly be a factory monster. The suspension it has already responds excellently to more traction. The engine has shown it can take a lot of power, all it needs is even 50 more HP. It would knock it into the mid 13's and suddenly be something to worry people with much more powerful cars.

So flakey gray paint, and orange leather.
To quote Austin Powers:

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

You can get 30hp with just bolt ons and and a tune. If you want to do E85, just add another 10 on top. So 50 isn't too far off. With stickier rubber and about 30 more hp it can run high 13s and low 14s. For under 30 grand I think that sounds about right.

If your bolt on's include boost, I completely agree. A $3000 supercharger will give you the power you need, reliability, etc. A turbo would be nicer for head room and flexibility, but I'll take anything. The engine is so weezy it's like it was designed for a little positive pressure.

I don't care what you think it's perfect and I must have it...
I'll turbo it after the warranty runs out ;)

A supercharger on this car will make it a rocket. 9lbs of boost and it makes about 230whp. A turbo does even crazier things, going towards the 300 mark, with similar amount of boost. If you want to keep the warranty though(not completely void it with FI), then full exhaust, tune, and intake is your best bet. If you get quality parts, 30 whp should be easy.

"it just needs a turbo... it has shown it can take a lot of power"

People have been turboing the cars since they came out. Several people have gone over 700HP on stock engines... but I think much over 350HP is pushing it without some safety in the fueling system. Lots of people have been running over 300HP without issue.

Casper is right, a turbo with a reasonable amount of boost is a good option, you can get 300ish hp no problem. Some guy on the forums is aiming for 700hp with this car. Can't wait to see what happens!
